Caravaning Informations GmbH travels through the eighties with attractive caravaning sweepstakes

For nine days, the Düsseldorf exhibition halls will be the focus of international attention with regards to mobile holidays. The reason: from 28 August to 05 September the Exhibition Centre will host CARAVAN SALON DÜSSELDORF 2010. More than 550 exhibitors are again being expected this year. They will present trends and innovations for camper vans and caravans, accessories and equipment and showcase many other topic areas.

Caravaning Informations GmbH (CIG) is offering multiple opportunities to participate and win during the supporting program of the largest international industry meeting. Visitors may experience quiz-shows, games and time-travel through the eighties with a very special photo contest. Trade fair visitors are encouraged to submit their most beautiful vacation pictures from the eighties. Looking through the old photo albums might be a worthwhile endeavour, since the first prize is an original VW bus from the eighties.

Like no other decade, the eighties were famous for off-the-wall fashion, eccentric pop music and an informal lifestyle. Everybody remembers certain items from this decade. At the CIG stand, you may reacquaint yourself with the Walkman, shoulder pads, old commercials and music by Modern Talking, Nena or Falco.

Wanted: Holiday Pictures from the Eighties

All visitors may enrich the eighties exhibition with their personal mementos in connection with a photo contest. All holiday pictures taken between 1980 and 1989 will be projected onto a large screen. Everybody submitting a private picture will receive a small present from the eighties as a thank you.

The photo contest jury will present awards to the most eccentric, creative or humorous submissions. It is important that the picture is recognizable as being from the eighties, and it must have been taken during a vacation. Daily prizes include premium caravaning trips by LeadingCampings as well as attractive giveaways. During the grand finale on the last trade fair day, the grand prize winner will be drawn from all daily winners. The grand prize is a true collector’s vehicle, namely an original VW bus from the eighties.

CARAVAN SALON DÜSSELDORF: Dates and Facts

CARAVAN SALON DÜSSELDORF 2010 is open from Saturday, 28 August to Sunday, 05 September 2010, from 10 am to 6 pm. The trade fair is accessible to trade visitors and media representatives on Friday, 27 August. The cost of a one-day ticket for adults is € 12; a two-day ticket is € 19. Discounted tickets are available for children, pupils, students and members of the CARAVAN SALON Club. Advance tickets also include free transportation to and from the Exhibition Centre on all VRR (Verkehrsverbund Rhein-Ruhr) transit services on the day of the trade fair visit (DB, 2nd class). Tickets purchased at the ticket office include a free return trip in the VRR region. Tickets are available as of August at the customer centres of the VRR. ADAC automobile club members can get their tickets at the ADAC branch offices, as well. DCC members may order their tickets at the DCC.
