More than 40 years of MPK
MPK has been manufacturing injection-moulded plastic parts for over 40 years, primarily for the caravan and motorhome industry. One focus is the production of roof covers for caravans and motorhomes.
MPK also manufactures other components for recreational vehicles, such as exterior plugs, gas connection boxes, ventilation grilles, floor vents, manoeuvring handles and hinges. In addition, MPK manufactures a large number of customer-specific plastic parts.
Founded in 1973 by Horst Reichwald, the company initially traded under the names ELWEPLAST and MEPLA, before being renamed MPK a short time later.
In 1975, in cooperation with a well-known caravan manufacturer, MPK developed roof bonnets for caravans in which both the frame and the uprights were made of plastic. At that time an absolute pioneer position, today long since a standard in caravan equipment
As early as 1976, MPK was one of the first manufacturers to produce roof hoods with folding fly screens and retrofittable blackout blinds. In the meantime, these functions have become indispensable in the caravan industry.
2004: Generation change in the management. With the takeover by Thomas Bessmann, son-in-law of the company founder, the course is set for a promising future of the successful family business.
Several new projects follow, including the development of the new VisionVent product family (roof hoods):
2005 first the small VisionVent S, with a modern and shapely clear glass hood, followed by the larger VisionVent M pro in 2007, also with a new clear glass hood and a high-quality inner frame with double pleated blinds.
Subsequently, in 2011, MPK introduced its latest development, the VisionStar M pro motorhome roof hood, a very flat clear glass roof hood with minimized driving noise. It impresses with its simple one-hand operation and an absolutely modern design.
Many well-known manufacturers rely on the quality of the parts supplied by MPK and on the reliable supply. Today MPK supplies most caravan and motorhome manufacturers in Germany, as well as in other European countries, up to customers in South Africa, Japan, Australia and New Zealand.
Currently, some new projects are already underway, so that we will be able to present you with further innovations in the future: Let us surprise you!
